Introducing - Franchise Tools
More ways for your entire league to build their Legacy
Franchise Tools
One of the goals I’ve had for League Legacy is to make it feel like it belongs not just to the commissioner, but to the entire league.
Commissioners will always be at the center of setting things up, managing the league, and shaping the experience. But some of the most fun parts of a fantasy league happen when every member has more ways to participate, personalize, and contribute to the league’s story.
That’s what this update is about.
We’re introducing a new expansion - Franchise Tools, giving each league member space inside League Legacy to further manage their legacy.
Franchise Home
First - we’ve added a dedicated Franchise Home for each member within Franchise Tools.
This is the hub for your franchise inside League Legacy. It gives members a cleaner home base for their team identity, active tools, and current-season engagement features.
Branding & Identity
Up until now, franchise identity changes often depended on the commissioner making edits.
With this update, members can now manage much more of that themselves.
Franchises can update their own profile image, franchise bio, and team colors, making it easier for every member to personalize how their franchise appears across the league.
It’s a small thing on paper, but it adds a lot to the feel of a league when every team has its own look, voice, and personality.
Power Rankings
Power Rankings are now part of Franchise Tools - and more powerful than ever!
There are now three great ways your League can run weekly Power Rankings during the season:
1) Franchise Aggregate - this gives every franchise the opportunity to rank and submit power rankings for the league each week, and then aggregates the rankings to determine the consensus for the week.
2) Commissioner Ranks - if the commissioner wants more control, they can take sole control over manually setting the Power Rankings for the league each week.
3) System Calculated - the same great default that we’ve used for years - just let us determine the power rankings automatically each week based on recent performances!
Power rankings are one of those classic league conversation starters. Everyone has an opinion, and now League Legacy gives you a better place to turn those opinions into part of the official league experience.
Trade Block
We’re also introducing another new in-season tool - the Trade Block.
Franchises can add players or positions they’re seeking to trade for, or list players and positions they’d be open to moving.
The idea is to make trade activity more visible, more dynamic, and easier to engage with over the course of the season.
Trade Block listings will appear on your Season page for the active season, so the market feels like a real part of the league environment instead of something hidden away in private messages.
If your league loves trade talk, this one should be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to expanding the functionality here in the future for more interactivity.
(I think there is more we can add here in the future - would love to hear some feedback and ideas on how ya’ll would use it!)
Ring of Honor
Franchises can now do more to celebrate their own legends!
Ring of Honor gives franchises a way to spotlight the players, moments, and icons that matter most to their own franchise. Whether it’s a retired jersey number, a franchise cornerstone, or a player forever tied to a team’s identity, this helps capture that part of the league’s long-term story in a more intentional way.
Each franchise can now view their Ring of Honor and retired numbers on their Franchise page.
This is one of my favorite kinds of League Legacy features - not just stats and standings, but tools that help leagues preserve lore.
League Polls
League Polls was already a great feature we released last year, and now it’s even easier for franchise members to use.
Each franchise now has a direct place to access open polls, cast votes, and review poll history from within Franchise Tools.
That means better visibility for active league questions and fewer missed votes, while giving members a cleaner way to stay involved in league decisions and discussions.
Press Releases
This addition gives franchises their own media arm.
With Press Releases, members can draft and publish official franchise statements directly from their own franchise tools. Whether it’s a trade announcement, a roster move, a bold prediction, a response to league drama, or a season outlook, franchises now have a polished way to make their voice part of the league’s story.
These releases don’t just live in a hidden admin area either. They can become part of the public-facing league experience and give your league another layer of personality and content.
Some leagues will use this seriously. Others will use it irresponsibly. Both outcomes feel correct.
Referrals
And finally - we’re introducing a new referral system for League Legacy!
If you know another commissioner who would love League Legacy, you can now share your referral link and earn $10 for every league you refer that ends up subscribing.
It’s a simple way to reward the people helping spread the word and to let members be part of League Legacy’s growth beyond just their own league. The best way to help support continued development and growth here - is to spread the word about League Legacy - and now theres a way for you to take home some rewards from doing so, too.
Wrapping Up
This is a big step toward making League Legacy feel more alive for every league member, not just the commissioner.
The commissioner still sets the stage. But the best leagues are built by everyone contributing to the experience, the lore, the debates, the identity, and the fun.
Have more ideas you’d like to see for Franchise Tools? Send them my way!
P.S. Commissioners can manage Franchise Tools settings on the League Franchises page in Commissioner Tools!
